Design Philosophy

March 24, 2017Christina Brillati

Hello friend…. lately I’ve realized my life would be so much easier if I didn’t have such a passion and an obsession for design. My wish, my goal is for everyone to experience the joy of coming home to a house that reflects their spirit and brings them happiness. A home is also a workhorse and should serve all of those that live in it….everyone should have a comfortable space to live, work, dream, create.  I believe in form over function.  A home must first meet your needs and then we work to make it look good.

I have a formal education in Interior Design and Communications, however my most valuable knowledge came from on the job experience. The first firm I worked for was known for their very, very high end “County French” style. Next, it was off to Florida where our clients were looking for “Mediterranean” and “tropical” decor. After that, it was my turn to nest and I experimented with “Industrial”, “Farmhouse” and “French Provincial”. Then came a passion for Mid-Century Modern. If you would like to work with me, you’re more than likely looking for a home that is light, bright, clean full of life, color and art.

I love to work with traditional bones and modern furnishings and accessories. I’m not a decor snob… I’m equally at home at the Salvation Army scouring for a gem then at the Michigan Design Center. In the end, the best projects take creativity, an open mind, compromise and editing, editing, editing.  I work hard to show people how to mix styles, educate them on where to save and where to splurge.  After all, the perfect mix makes every room more interesting and unique.
